While the Caribbean is full of Tropical Islands with warm water and sun they are also in the most part a potential target for hurricanes.
If you are looking to get away from that you can try Mexico as it is usually safer during the beginning of hurricane season. However, once August comes things begin to heat up. Specific safe- or at least safer-areas, you'll rarely encounter a hurricane is in the Southern Caribbean Islands such as, South America, Aruba, the Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, etc.
